FERC’s Large Loads Co-Located at Generating Facilities Technical Conference

We submitted comments in FERC's docket on their Technical Conference on Co-location of Large Loads at Generating Facilities. Key points are:

- FERC should assess what might be necessary to ensure CRE utilities do not fall under their jurisdiction.

- FERC should clarify that any network that is truly isolated—indeed, physically islanded—with no synchronous or asynchronous connection to the broader grid is exempt from their oversight.

- FERC oversight over CRE utilities would be unnecessary and represent a departure from the intent of Section 215 of the Federal Power Act."
