Executive Order on Advancing United States Leadership in Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure
"The development of AI infrastructure should proceed without raising energy costs for American consumers and businesses...." One way of achieving this is by allowing for the creation of NEW and INDEPENDENT electric utilities. New utilities allowed to focus on the AI growth while remaining separate from the regulated grids can't impact others like residential consumers. Since they can't impact others, there would be no need for state utility regulator oversight. And since there would be no need for state utility regulator oversight, these new utilities could deliver faster supplies of electricity and innovate at a pace that might impress even the AI industry. We call this "Consumer Regulated Electricity" or CRE.
